Who am I?
Hi, I am Ian Matthew Shot, your host in this Virtual corner of a Virtual World. I am a 27 year old IS Manager/Network Administrator by day, and Sysop at night, and all around nice guy (or so I believe). These are my interests, and things
that you might find here:
I've been on the Internet since 1992, and been in the Online world (BBS) since 1991. In 1992 I started a BBS.
Around early 1994, late 1993 or so, I started to play with
Linux
after being introduced to Unix at School in 1993. Also I was introduced to Anime in 1992.
Some of my other interests are
Comic Books,
Computers, Science Fiction, Role Playing Games, and Reading.
Why did you do a useless Web Page like this?
Why did I do a web page, why does anyone create web pages. I am hoping to actually have some actual content here soon.People create Web pages for all sorts of reasons. For example, to show off what they have learned about HTML, XML
and the like, or people may believe they have information that others might like to have, so they put this information out on the Internet for everyone to find. Other reasons include but are not limited to: huge ego, boredom, it pays the bills. So back to
the original question, why did I do a web page. My answer:
Why not (in other words, HUGE EGO, and Boredom).
Why has it taken me so long to update these pages. This thing called a Life started to interfere with me doing Web pages, and adding more information to them.
Plus I wanted to learn more about Java, ActiveX, VBScript and design and layout. Well as you can see I didn't learn anything about any of them. So we are stuck with my simple ways. But this desire to learn (or at least irrational thought that I would have time to learn) kept me from updating the pages till they are so far out of date, that I just decided to re-evaluate the site, and just start all over.
What is this life thing, and why would anyone want it? Real good question, I don't have an answer to that. So far all I know is it seems to take time away from the things I really like to do, like read, play with computers, and watch
Science Fiction TV/Movies or Anime.
